World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.
For example a weapon that has the upgrade template that is ending in % will take on an attack damage of 3% each time it is upgraded (relative to its previous value).
The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases with the item's level.
Components
Upgrade components can be incorporated into weapons, armor and trinkets in order to give them a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades can also be accompanied by specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components can be inserted into any equipment that has a slot for them; the item must have been at the very least upgraded to blue level in order for the component to be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and Enrichments are a kind of upgrade component that is used to upgrade non-amulet legendary and ascended equipment, as well other items that are not ascended. Infusions and enrichments can be obtained by salvaging equipment that is ascended or by completing a mission within the Prophecies, Factions, and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, thereby changing the name of the item it's used on (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia',' changes to Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item, which lets players to create stronger versions using the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they would require to achieve the same level with normal methods.
A boost upgrade can change the attack or defence attributes of an armored weapon or. After the player has completed the cutscene and defeated Crazed Mechanist, these upgrades can be crafted at the Portative Forging Station. They can also be dropped by enemies while upgrading other gear, or by purchasing them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.
Each upgrade increases the probability that a higher-tier version of the item will be available in the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to keep improving their equipment, even if they're unsure of the extent to which it will improve after a future reset.
Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a significant chance that the item could become obsolete or even break if it fails; a failed upgrade will ruin the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. This is reduced by the availability of cash shop items that can double or even eliminate chances of failure, and some upgrades that offer the benefit of being reinserted into an item.
Glyphs
Glyphs can be used to upgrade the Paragon Board by placing them in sockets with special functions. Glyphs increase the power of all nodes in the area around them, including pre-existing affixes on equipment. Glyphs can be upgraded a variety of ways, and we suggest getting them to level 15 whenever you can.
It is commonplace to see in the endgame that putting Glyphs is the best way to upgrade your equipment. They are the only upgrade components that can be upgraded straight to level 15 and offer significant boosts to your power and radius on the Paragon Board, enabling you to get higher nodes faster.
Most of the upgrades in the game can be replaced, however, Glyphs are only the one upgrade component that can be removed and re-placed without any restrictions. Only legendary equipment can be salvaged and replaced using the aid of a Black Lion Salvage Kit.
The value of each Glyph is displayed when you select it in your inventory. You can replace it with another Glyph that is the same or higher rank to increase the value of the Glyph.
There are Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain gathering tools that are unlimited-use, and through Faction Crypt raids. Each Faction Crypt has the possibility of dropping one of the many Glyphs and there are also a few rare glyphs to be found as drops from any of the four Faction Crypts.
Once you have obtained the desired Glyphs You will need to place them on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a particular set of nodes that are within the radius of the Glyph. It could be +40 for one of your primary stats or +25 for two of your secondary stats based on the Glyph.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, so it is best to put Glyphs in the most important locations on the Graph. This will increase the impact. For example that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes, however, you may also want to think about placing them near crucial damage nodes, too.
Leveling
The system of upgrading items lets players increase the performance of certain items by placing upgraded components into them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item requires different components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns a number of Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrade the item. Once enough points are earned, the upgrade can be claimed and the additional bonuses will be added to the item.
When the player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into the form of a weapon or shield when upgraded. The new item will also come with a bonus of its own. This could be a problem because it can make the item more expensive if you do not need it.
If the player has enough tokens, they can roll item upgrades . The item will be replaced with the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful for certain items, but it's not something that should be performed frequently, since it can waste many resources.
Certain upgrades can be rerolled several times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their gear. Dolphin's Gift is a good example, as it gives a buff if the player continuously enters or leaves the water. This item can be upgraded many times, increasing the maximum roll each time by 10 increments. This item can be very valuable in PvP, as a perfectly rolled version of it can be worth between 20 and 50 times its non-upp'd value.
Requirements
The item upgrader lets players increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor weapons, armor trinkets, and weapons) beyond ilvl385 by handing over the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades to armor set pieces boost the defense of the base set and upgrades to weapon items increase their base damage as well as their strength and dexterity.
All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero gear, which can be upgraded eight times. Every time you upgrade an object, it is at risk of failing. The failure rate increases as you go over the maximum number. Failures will result in the item reverting to its initial state, which will force the user to pay more for materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.
If an item isn't upgraded, the experience bar in its growth bar will be reset to zero. In addition the item will lose any bonuses it gained such as crit chance and attack damage, and all additional effects associated with the effect (for example, increased heal over time or reload speed). The player will be able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
When an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that, when a weapon gains an increase in its crit chance the increase is applied prior to any increase in attack damage. A new attribute known as Slots has been added to the item definition and the value is computed every time an upgrade is applied.
The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots. The cost for upgrading non-premium items is the same as the base value of the upgrade. For example, a common equipment item might have 5 upgrades, each costing 25,600 Technology Points and a 4x Quality Improvement Chance. Hero grade items will have the lowest cost for each upgrade.
Premium items may have different upgrade requirements than regular gear. For instance, they may need fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. However, players will have to visit the NPC [Armorthe ] Boboko in Central Flarine with each piece of equipment they want to upgrade. Each upgrade of equipment requires different amounts of the upgrade ingredients in addition to the costs listed above.
